As with the title, my 125i is current;y sat on the drive waiting to be recovered (next week) to an indi BMW specialist to diagnose, and hopefully fix, the problem.

The AA breakdown had a quick look, plugged in to the ODBC but said he wasn't able to get fault codes from one part of the the car, and from the other section it indicated a problem with the turbo's wastegate solenoid ... which he couldn't identify and didn't think it was the real problem.

Can anyone offer any help and/or advice please? I will be without the car for over a week, and that's just until it goes into the indi ... if I could find a solution myself it would make life much easier!

btw ... car is a 2013, 8 speed auto, approaching 100k, and has had a mild remap for the last 3 years (and 30k miles) up to 270 ish bhp.

bbtw ... have had the car since it was 2,000 miles old, fully serviced, has never had any problems, was running fine the day before. Went to start it the next morning and it turns over fine, but will not fire.

I would always check the battery first - make sure it is good, charged and that the terminals are secure.

That includes the emergency disconnect.

Many thanks. I reckon the AA checked that, and the had an independent power supply clamped on under the bonnet which I think would have taken over from the battery,

Well good luck with the repair. No communication with some modules could mean that the canbus to those systems is down. BMW, like most manufacturers, has multiple canbus networks running different linked functions. The engine and transmission are part of the power train canbus.
Not talking to these implies something pretty fundamental has happened. I would not imagine anything mechanical would bring that about other than physical disconnects in the wiring like power, fuses etc.
Hope you get it sorted.
