BMW X1 18d 2016 heater replacement cost

Hi,

I have recently checked my vehicle in the BMW service center for a recall. In the interior &controls report, they mentioned the heater box has to be replaced and quoted 579£ for replacing it. But I don't see a problem in heating.

is it possible to get it replaced outside the local garage and how much they will charge? The cost looks too much for me.

If it’s a standard recall it should be fixed free of charge. If you see nothing wrong with the heating and it’s working perfectly have you asked what fault they have found?

Hi,
The recall is for EGR replacement not the heater.It is regular inspection they used to do during recall.

In the report heater box faulty shown.I will enquire them tomorrow.
