2022 911 fully comp £500. Renewal notice for my M2 just come through £1879!! I'd heard premiums were rising but this is taking the p1ss!

53 years of age, 25yrs+ NCB and zero points. I'll start shopping around but any recommendations gratefully received....

Who's your current insurer? If it's admiral I'm going to say this was your first year with them and you got a good deal, 2nd year they spank you.

If it isn't admiral give them a try but be prepared that come renewal they'll pull your pants down.

Give Howdens (formerly A Plan) a call and speak to a human.
Needs to be the Thatcham branch for performance cars.

Had my M2C, Stelvio QV, Giulia QV and Golf R (currently) all insured through them and no one else got near them.

Try saga! i paid £320 plus £60pa to freeze it for 3 years in 2022. That’s a 20 plate comp garaged at home 4K miles per annum no points, no claims since 2017 and full no claims bonus.

I just picked up a cheap V8 S5 as a project car, and all the quotes on my usual comparison site (confused) were £500+.

Out of curiosity I tried comparethemarket and the same provider (Sterling) was cheapest on them too, but at only £260.

Maybe I just got lucky, but it might be worth being persistent over a few days and a few different sites as it's not the first time I've exploited an anomaly like this.

Worth trying Chris Knott as well. They were very competitive for me.

Another for Chris Knott and also Peter Best.

I recall that also, it depends when you obtain your quote versus the date of expiry. There's a sweet spot about 3 weeks out from your expiry, after that, the algorithms load up the quote because they know you are running down the clock

Just remembered - insurance bloke on Martin Lewis said it last year.

They would not insure my F90 Comp at all.

Just to add, Saga insurance is what I used for my M140i for the past 2 years, but Saga use AXA as the under writers so it's actually AXA who you have to deal with if you have to claim.

I have an OG M2 now, and Hastings was the cheapest.
