F31 340i or G31 540i or...?

I need to replace our 128ti with something a little more family friendly and have broadly narrowed down my search to the two touring models above. Can I ask what the pros and cons would be of each model and perhaps where the sensible money would be? I have £30k to spend cash.

Mainly short journeys with a handful of 100 mile journeys per month.

General requirements: petrol, estate, not four cylinder motor, no hybrids, no EV.

The F31 is a lovely car; I'm biased

But in comparison to the G31; it's no contest, more so with the B58 40i engine!

If you've the budget and want the quality and luxury that the G31 offers; go for the 540i every time IMO
