I’ve looked at a car today that has a full Porsche service history but has a techart front and rear spoiler fitted. I’m guessing Porsche won’t like that if I try to put a Porsche warranty on it?

I strongly suspect no chance.

They even make you change the battery or windscreen wipers if they are non OEM
The only way to know for certain would be to have the discussion with a dealer.

Thanks I did try having that conversation with a couple of dealers today but didn’t get a definitive answer.
I suspect it will be a no.

Can the stuff be removed and refitted after putting warranty on it?

It all depends on the dealer, or maybe the individual relationship with them

I know of people with disc & brake upgrades that have had OPC warranties renewed when those parts were on the car

Speak to Phil Hindley at Tech9 for a definitive answer. He’s the Techart’s UK agent.

I have BBS FI-R’s on my GT3…not had a problem with renewing warranty or when I had a warranty claim for a PADM last year.

As said above all about individual OPC and your relationship with them. They are effectively the gate keeper for warranty claims.

Isn’t renewing a warranty something a bit different than putting a warranty onto the car though ?

You can now renew an existing Porsche warranty without needing a 111 point inspection (i think renewing historically requires a 111 point inspection to be carried out) but if your car is currently out of warranty, you need to pass the 111 point inspection before putting the warranty on.

So the question really is, (assuming the car would pass the 111 point warrant on all other aspects), would the presence of the aftermarket parts mean the 111 point inspection would be failed?, and therefore be ineligible for the warranty

Thanks for the replies all. I’ve decided it’s too much hassle to pursue that car - the search continues!

Put the FI-R’s on the car when it was still under manufacturers warranty. So when I took out the extended warranty the wheels were on the car…this was nearly three years ago now. I can’t remember re 111 point check and what the rules were back then but I know they have been relaxed since.
