A really good 11 months for me thanks to the thread, followed by a month of full on self-destruct thanks to my fragile existence. Will weigh tomorrow and update, but I'm really looking forward to getting back on it. I am properly flawed so if I can do it, anyone can.
Slimming world style for me, but there are many ways to skin a cat. There is no judgement to your approach, just hopefully sensible advice and encouragement.
If you're carrying on from last year or starting for the new year, let's go! If you're joining us, perhaps let us know if you're happy to be messaged if you disappear.

I'd encourage all users to update the table every one or two weeks. Set a reminder on your phone. The less drop outs the better, even if you're temporarily heading in the wrong direction. The group can rally round and help everyone along, don't be afraid to say you're struggling (illness, feeling down, mental health, lost mojo, injury).

I'm in. Joined but fell off the bandwagon in 2022 then completely ignored the 2023 thread. At my all time heaviest of 165kg at the moment but apart from some festive indulgence I have gotten a head start by finding and joining a cracking private gym 5 minutes from the house. Bagged a few visits already to finish off 2023 as I mean to go on.
I'm in and have added myself to the wiki. Happy to receive a poke if I haven't updated in a while!
Since having my first son 6 years ago and a second one after, I've struggled to maintain a decent weight and saw my weight bounce around, reaching a higher peak each time.
I have a walking holiday in June which my knees just won't be able to handle if I'm at my present weight, I'd like to lose a decent 15+kg by then.

I’m in. Had a st last year due to spending time on crutches then a mystery illness that kept causing my joints to ache.
Diet was cack all year, feeling miserable about myself after a horrendous Xmas and new year diet wise.
I always way in on a Friday so will update then.

You’re not alone. Nearly all Weight Watcher [97%) clients put the weight loss back on, or more, over 3 years. It’s a brilliant business model.Long term calorie counting/restriction is not the answer.

As was the theme in the 2023 thread, excerise or the gym isn't the answer. How much unnecessary food have you already eaten since midnight and how much more do you intend to eat today?
Eatting less is the key, not going to the gym, that's simply a distraction from main issue, too much food.

A link with good and legit advice that some members might find useful (I posted this last year as well when it was first released):
Small sustainable changes that you can maintain long term. No right/wrong way to do it (keto/low fat/TRF/IF etc) - find the strategy that works for you and keep it up. See it as a long term aim, not a short term goal. Good luck all.

G3org3y is right, small sustainable changes. Remove sugar (not easy) from your diet. Avoid all super processed food. Eat smaller portion. Move more. Look at the ingredients listed on packaging, how much is actual ‘food’. If it’s advertised on TV never buy it, it’ll be unhealthy. Don’t buy anything marked ‘low fat’, it will be processed with something to make it palatable (usually sugar/sweetener). Etc etc.

All the GLP-1s have done is suppress the appetite so they eat less. (No comment regarding the actual quality of the food they are eating btw...you could lose weight by eating only 1 McDonald's double cheese burger a day, but it wouldn't be healthy).
Please do what makes you feel better/motivated. This is likely to include improvements to diet and exercise. Let's keep this a positive place.

In for 2024.
Main goal is to get back to the lean athletic body I had before the accident.
Secondary goal is to stop referring to getting fat and out of shape as "the accident".
(Shamelessly nicked from elsewhere...)
Going to take some starting photos and measurements today. Front view is not to bad (tall with broad shoulders helps hide it) but side view is fairly horrendous, if I was a woman, people would be asking when its due.

Yep, I'm in! I have already started Weight Watchers again - breakfast
I started on WW 1st January 2022 and lost 4st in about 6 months. I stopped being so strict and religious about my diet in September 2022 and managed to maintain until around March 2023. Since then I've abandoned everything (diet, running, gym) and have gained 2.5st.
I'm hoping to lose 3.5st by the end of May which is when we're going on our next family holiday.
I'll start C25k again this week once I'm at the end of my run of night shifts. I also bought a MTB in the summer which I love and being only a short drive from Twisted Oaks bike park I get the opportunity to use it frequently.

Had one for years and love it. Some find it dull as hell but I personally find it quite therapeutic to focus on each stroke. Best efforts were 6:45 for the 2k and 8400 for the 30 mins. Going to pull it out of the back of the garage for a clean and lube and then make a (slow) start back. Chasing past glory!

Yeah, C2 and possibly the best thing I have ever bought. It lives in my office about 10 mins walk from home (only me so no one else has to watch!). I never really pushed for times, but rowed and rowed until it became normal. Takes me ~43 minutes for a 10k watching Netflix. I did jump on the lunchtime Dave Plan for a few weeks and my 2k was 7:18.7, 5k 19:28. I'm 50+ and 100kg+, only one of those I can do anything about I joined a 'sub7' group for one of the challenges - and at a time it looked very feasible, right now I don't think so - but with many of the challenges distance-based I think I'll be ok. Only managed 100k for the Holiday challenge, but my diet and exercise both fell apart tail-end of the year. Facebook C2 group is excellent if you're not already a member.
I said on last year's thread that I actually do look like someone who rows everyday now, just the added caveat of looking like I'm rowing to the pie shop. I've currently got a bit of a shoulder issue so will see what transpires - would genuinely miss it if I couldn't row for a while.
I don't really use FB, but am on the C2 group. Compared to the Zwift/Peleton groups it's actually very civilised.
I’m in. At the start of 2019 I was 116kg, managed to get that down to 85.5 by the end of that year and eventually just under 75 by mid 2020.
Since then I’ve effed up all my efforts and as of this morning I’m 105kg.
It’s going to be a bit harder this time round because there’s hopefully not going to be a global pandemic meaning I’ve got nothing to do during the day apart from exercise every waking hour, but I’ll give it a go.
My aim is 80kg.
