Main Beam Indicator

Hi good people is the blue main beam indicator an LED or bulb and how do I change ir as mine no longer works.

Dash cover is off so I can see the little pcb behind it but I don't want to go further without knowing what I am doing.

It's an LED. I think it's a standard 4mm LED. It's on a small board with the ICE warning LED. From memory - they're hot glued into their holders.

Tricky with the panel in the car! Check the ribbon cable first. You should be able to check if it's getting a signal.

Mentioned on the other thread, but when mine wasn't working I was able to poke around and get it to work without replacing. Think i just pulled off the connector, cleaned it up and put it back on.

The Blue LEDs are rubbish and not very bright. Even when working they are are to see when on the move. Just like the blue AC indicator LED.

Would be interesting if you manage to replace it with a better quality one though.

I made a mistake and thought that with the blue led on the heater panel, replaced it with some we had at our old work, but now it's much too bright at night time.

It was dirty contacts on the ribbon cable for me also.

My main beam indicator has always been fine brightness wise.
