Aye, the nights are fair drawin oot, so time to think about what to do in the summer! cool

Who is going to what this year? Or what's even on?

Challenger will be going back to the Buckie Car Show in August, and just registered for the Inverness one in May. Will take the Monaro too if I still have it then. Word at the Buckie show last year was that it was way better than the Aberdeen one, so not sure if that means the Aberdeen one is worth a look at or not. It wasn't getting very favourable reviews from folk at Buckie, but all opinions welcomed!

Any take on this one?

https://www.facebook.com/Thehighlandertracknshow/

Not the biggest of shows judging by the aerial pics, but its not far down the road, even from Orkney. Just not sure the widebody will fit too well sideways on a karting track! rofl

In years gone by as part of one of the Highland hoons organised on here that track was used as a campsite and the track was used by wuite a few participants. There was everything from an Ariel Atom on toyo 888s to a Ford Mustang going round.
Its wider than it looks.

Lots of quite well south ones being listed here. So, confirmed attendance so far for the year;

  • Highlander Track and Show - Golspie - 14th April
  • Inverness Performance Car Show - 19th May
  • Applied for the Aberdeen Car Show on 4th August, but not hearing anything back from them, so that's likely to make the decision, and it will be the Orkney car show again this year which is on the same weekend
  • Buckie Classic Car Show - 25th August
Will have see if we can get to any in the "deep south"! hehe

Finally heard back from "Aberdeen Performance Car Show" today, after applying weeks ago. But heard nothing from them till now, so gave up on them a week or 2 ago and made plans for going to the show on Orkney again this year on 3rd/4th August. One less for Aberdeen! biglaugh

While not strictly a show (although the cars will be assembled before, at lunch and after) the Perthshire Classic Tour is coming up on 21st April.

Looks to be an interesting mix of cars and raises money for charity.

Here's my list, furthest south we're venturing at the moment is Glamis

Cars@Cairnglass, St Combs 18th May - first time

Inverness Performance, 19th May - not going this year, just too much on, see above. Went last year, decent show.

Errol - 9th June - not sure yet, again a busy time for us

Thompson Rally. Stonehaven - 30th June oops, forgot about this.

Glamis 13th/14th July - went on Sat last year with club, probably Sunday this year

Alford Cavalcade - 21 July - not booked in yet, but I'm in Alford so probably. Not a big show like it was back in the day... yet.

Aberdeen performance, Castle Fraser 4th Aug - went last year. On a par with Inverness - same organisers?

Buckie 25th Aug. Good show, awards to be had biggrin

This is my list for this year, remains to be seen if I will make it all but I've entered various vehicles for Rally on the River, The Thompson Rally & Allford at Alford. I'll enter Buckie when entries open, entries are -
Mustang GT
F150 SVT Lightning
18k Mile Mk3 Fiesta
Reliant Scimitar
1977 Yamaha TT500 (won best bike in show at last years Aberdeen Performance Show which I was happy about)
A restored 1994 Honda CR250 at the Thompson Rally, I can't be arsed hauling it elsewhere when it likely has limited interest to people.

5th May - Rallye at the River (NE Ford RS Club), Milton of Crathes.
15-16th - June Bon Accord Steam fair. Castle Fraser
30th June - Thompson Rally Stonehaven.
2nd-3rd July - Royal Deeside Motor Show, Kincardine Castle.
Dates TBC (July Sometime) Kincardine Castle Speed Fest 2024
18th Aug - Allford at Alford Motor Museum.
25th Aug - Buckie Classic Car show.

2nd and 3rd are Tue and Wed this year. Have you got a Delorean in there somewhere too?

Hmm, not sure how I managed to get those dates, looking again it looks like the dates aren't confirmed yet.

Which means you can scrub them from your list this year, there won't be one now. Shame that, enjoyed having a 'local' one.

First show of the year down!

And first spoil taken home!

Good time at the Highlander Track and Show at Golspie yesterday, even if it was a bit cold.
