Anyone have an opinion or experience of this .... G21 M340i delivered to me brand new from the wonderful Dick Lovett in Hungerford on 25 November.

Huge smiles until 14 December when mild hybrid software fell over. Recovered to Group 1 Farnborough and returned all fixed, late on 19 December. Again, great customer service. Software fell over again 5 miles later despite conscientious dealer test drive before returning to me.

Recovered again to Group 1 and back in a rental X1 until 2024...

Is it just me or is it a bigger BMW software problem... I'm starting to get grumpy. B58 is insanely good, but methinks cars are seriously over-reliant on IT nowadays.

Just to complete the loop … One Farnborough have really gone out of their way to find the fault. An incorrectly wired BMW dash cam that was supplied with the car was the problem. It’s all mended and customer care exemplary… and breathe!

Good to hear that it’s sorted, not least because I’ve just bought my 340i and the amount of tech in it is a bit daunting. Let’s hope that we both have a long and trouble free ownership.

At least that B58 lump will survive anything! Joking aside, there is a lot of digital to go wrong… I think mine may well be a keeper so I’ll be signing up for extended warranty +++!
