Glastonbury - volunteer advice please?

Afternoon all,

for the seventh year running I left the ticket sale empty handed so am considering volunteering. Has anyone here done this? If so should I:

1) Apply now before all the roles are taken
2) wait & see if I can get a resale ticket in April & if not, apply after that.

I hear that most charities will ask for a returnable deposit (to mitigate against people doing it to just get in & then not do any shifts), so could I sign up, then get my deposit back if I'm successful in April? The downside with waiting is that applying after April, there'll potentially be no vacancies.

So, stick or twist...kind of.

Any real world experience would be very useful. Thanks all, CF

No direct experience myself but answer is probably 1 - and then you'll be lucky if you've got no prior volunteering CV, but it depends what jobs you're willing to take...

I know someone who's done it - mental health support.

They seemed to enjoy it. Hard work, but they were also able to see the bands they wanted. Had times on duty and times off.
