First few days with the car and I'm seriously impressed - very (deceptively) fast and it seems like it will be getting min 28mpg+. Do these engines free up much with use? Between 80 - 100mph feels as quick and easy as 30 - 50. Note to self - set speed limit bleeper at 85ish!
Only gripe (or I could be being thick) is that I have not worked out how to turn off the sat-nav when it's part way through a route. Any ideas??

Wasn't that (Sat Nav) one of Clarkson's biggest gripes with the M5 he tested on Top Gear. Glad you are enjoying the car. If you want even better performance check out DMS Automotive. What they do (to BM diesels in particular) is astonishing.

Yep. Go to the Nav menue move the controller down to your destination (the one with the arrow and dot) and then push down on the controller. Then push down on the controller again to tick the first box in the pull down menue (don't know what it'll say in english - mine's in German ;-)) to turn it off. Bit annoying that.
The car does run a bit more freely after a while (done about 9000 km's in mine) plus fuel consumption comes down a bit.

Felix
Ah about the speed: That's what I find most impressive about the car - it doesn't care what speed you are doing when you floor it - it just gets on with it... Also impressive to see when it hits 200km/h and changes into 6th: acceleration slows down to about 205 - then the 2nd stage turbo kicks in and the needle accelerates away at silly speed. Makes me laugh every time..

Drove me mates 330d touring last night. Bloody impressive vehicle. I now think you'd really struggle to give good reason to want to drive a petrol and have to stop, what, every 200 miles sooner to refuel?
Mate has done 660 miles on a tank so far, including towing a flat bed trailer for over 200 miles. Very, very impressive car.

No problem dabber.. It probalby is quite a step - definately torque wise
Had a 2005 530d Touring before and it is quite a difference as well... I know of the TC-light problem Thing is even the "magical 7 second push" will not let you turn it of completely which probably helps to keep your tyre-bills in check...
330d is a nice piece of kit. There's still a lot of turbo-diesel chipping going on in this country, which makes the 330d about as quick as the 535d..
I can't wait for the 335d - should be a stormer. Then of course there's also the new 6cylinder turbos (335i) - tough decision that one..

Are you sure? Km's yes but miles? The most I have got out of a tank is 500 miles.
660 miles including towing a trailer is v. impressive. Best I've got out of my DMS re-mapped 330d is just short of 600 miles.
