Perhaps it’s the pure boredom of a few months without F1 that’s fuelling this. What F1 cliches make your toes curl? To kick us off, mine both relate to Alonso.
Brundle constantly calling him a “Wily old fox”
And the oft used phrase on here and many other places (mainly Ferrari and McLaren days) “dragging that dog of a car to places it had no right to be”

From Brundle
"Be on the right tyres at the tight time"
"Those tyres are now flat spotted, it will be like driving on 50p coins"
"3 into 2 won't go"
"For good measure"
"For his troubles"
"Mighty"
"Fresh set of boots"
"A day and a dollar short"
"Extra world championship point"
And crofty
"The Monegasque driver" for the 200th time when referring to Leclerc
"Concertina"
"Switcheroo"
"Around the outside"

The woman who does the FP1/2 roundups on the F1 YouTube channel mentions this in every single video and has done for years."Be on the right tyres at the tight time"

Pretty well sums up Alonso though. The one that really annoys me is: "accelerating down the 'straight-away'..."
Thankfully only used by one American commentator within F1, so far.
