325ti Manual - Ticking sound when moving from middle of car

My 2003 325ti 5-speed manual (147k miles) has developed a ticking sound only when moving that speeds up as the car speeds up. I'm reading elsewhere that it might be driveshaft related? I see talk of a Flex Disc or Guibo but does this also apply to manual cars?

Any other ideas? The car is a real workhorse for me and winter tyred up, definitely my winter hack. Has anyone experienced similar? Had it fixed? Any recommendations from experience?
