Any predictions for this year's Christmas no.1 then?

RIP. He was in his early 60s, so too young.
I'm guessing his earlier lifestyle may have been a contributing factor.

Fairytale of New York is my favourite Christmas song.

Hard to believe the main singers on it were 29 & 27 when recorded, are now both dear.

RIP Shane

Undoubtedly the best Christmas song. Kirsty and Shane’s legacy will live forever.

Marvellous! The first year in at least 15 I didn't have him down on the 'Dead in 20**' thread, and look what he does. He looked better last December than he had for years.

May be radio stations will play the proper version now?

Very rarely do I post on any of these ‘death threads’ but two in quick succession now.
R.I.P. Shane MacGowan and thanks for all the brilliant music.

Very sad to see this but unsurprising; in a way, am surprised he made 65.

Great singer; even better songwriter, a skill with weaving words right up there with any of his lyrical countrymen.

Will lift a glass to him tonight.

The Pogues was the first band I saw live, aged 13 on a french exchange trip. It was a bit of an eye opener! hehe

RIP beer

Saw the Pogues several times in the late 80s and early 90s.

I know Shane didn't write this, but an amazing cover
