Rear de-mister started smoking this morning. Looks like it’s blown. Fixable or new screen job?

New glass alone is well north of £600 to buy.

If you're handy with the tools, you can save yourself the fitting costs as it's all MET; no bonding.

Just had the call. £690! So you think the damage behind where it’s bubbled or in the loom/hatch area?

Can't quite make anything from the image, besides, it's a fully encapsulated unit. The glass is bonded to a frame which all comes as one.

It’s the off side part that seems to have swelled a bit and blown a tiny hole at the side. Presume a short somewhere has caused it blow at that point?

Might have to. I don’t mind paying for parts, but nearly £700 is a bit much. Will see if I can pinpoint the fault first.
