Tuscan chassis rebuild

My tuscan is going in for a body off chassis rebuild soon, apart from the rebuilt chassis, shocks, brakes, lines etc is there anything else i could get done to it while its in bits. Gearbox was recently rebuilt and the diff has play so that will be done while its in pieces. The only other thing i can think of is the cam chains, these were done by powers when it was rebuilt in 2008 and its done just under 50k since

I have had some service work done there and a gearbox rebuild and get a good feeling they are a good bunch. Maybe nip and see them when mines in bits and see the progress

76k miles is a good innings too. Was the car used in all weathers as well?
I guess not too much in the way of repairs needed, although the shot blasting might reveal other matters to address.
Are you getting them to do any other mods or updates while the body is off?

I have used it in all weathers to be honest, l;ess when there is salt about but it has been driven on salty roads. Not may mods to be honest, the diff is tired, i will get that rebuilt and get the Nitrons freshened up. Oh i have treated it to a new ACT exhaust.
Thanks for the quick reply. I think that chassis has held up well if it's (nearly) an all weather car.
The full chassis rebuild on the website certainly has an extensive list of things that can be changed done with the price quoted. I guess you can knock things off the list - like if you already have nitrons, etc.
I'd imagine it's a good time for a new clutch if the engine/gearbox is out already too.

My chassis didn't look much different when it came out, although I did have a hole through one of the front suspension brackets, hidden under a piece of powder coat, which is what prompted the body off. Once blasted it ended up having both full outriggers, all front suspension brackets and a couple of tubes around the manifold area. Mine had done a few years as a year round daily though.

As a Chim owner we don’t have that battery tray. I presume that’s what it is.
Looks like a real water/ damp attraction.
And I notice the outrigger down tubes are sleeved or braced with larger tube!
I wonder why they did that. I can only assume it was to add strength / rigidity

The battery tray is on the right hand side in this car. It was on the left in earlier cars, so it used to get cooked by the cats and exhaust, and soaked by all the road dirt thrown up by the access panel in the wheel arch that didn't seal properly. Batteries didn't last long!
