Hi All,

Father has a diesel Gen9 that has the DPF error with the ! icon so it seems that the DPF is full. He's had it cleaned out, taken it for a long run but still down on power. I told him to take it to Honda to do a forced regen. They've had it for £90+ VAT and said that they can't do it. Told him something up with the exhaust and will be £3000 for the fix!

I think that that they are talking a load of rubbish but I'm no diesel specialist at all. I personally think they just can't be bothered to deal with it.

So I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on what to try next? I'm thinking that I will do the DPF clean myself as I'm 95% sure there's a rubber hose that can be unclipped just behind the radiator. Give that a try.

I have a similar problem.
2009 Accord 2.2 cdti, DPF light came on and went into limp mode.
I paid £325 for a DPF clean on the drive - the guy who did it said that the DPF pressure sensor was faulty so he couldn't reset the ECU.
I then plugged the car into a Honda diagnostics which said that the DPF pressure sensor was fine and the DPF filter was full @ 49g and couldn't Regen.
I bought a cheap Chinese DPF pressure sensor on Amazon which the car accepted and demonstrated that this wasn't the fault.
I tried a forced Regen and DPF sensor reset but the car wouldn't allow it.
So I'm now stuck and a new DPF is my only solution I think.
