If there is an afterlife do you think all those old heroes are sitting around in their slippers and cardigans or do you think they are continually racing each other?
Imagine Fangio, Jim Clarke, James Hunt, Nicki Lauda, Senna all racing cars designed by Colin Chapman but waiting for Prost, Schumacher, Hamilton, Vettel and Adrian Newey to join them.
That truly would be The Race of Champions.

Of course they do, and on all the wonderful old unmolested tracks like Reims, Watkins Glen, the old Spa and Österreichring, Nürburgring, Monza with the banking and so on.
The cars are to their wishes, so that the old guard can try ground effects, or the likes of Gilles Villeneuve can clap it out with old cars like an 50s Alfetta or early 70s Lotus or McLaren!
We can watch when we are due, should be fun.

Happily Gilles didn’t have to wait until the afterlife to sample a 70’s (initially designed in 1973) Mclaren.

He debuted in an M23 at Silverstone in 1977.

Love the concept but Clark without an “e” and Niki without a “c” please….

Apologies for the misspelling and missing the old circuits. One of the good things about getting old is talking to similar age friends about races we saw 50/60 years ago. Or the drivers and cars.
