N54 6Speed Auto XHP settings

Hi All, recently got XHP on the car and I'm loving it. I've had it before however they've added quite a few new settings since I last used it on my previous car.
Does anyone have any advice/experience with any of the settings, for example disabling the cold start, disabling decoupling and if there is any point messing about with the gear ratios?
I've read the explanation on the cold start and decoupling settings however I can't quite understand why someone would bother disabling them and it look as though maybe it would be worse on the car doing it.
