A big beautiful Cerb just cruised past the office, and I've just commented to a young girl in the office
Hmmm, must be an early one, you can tell by the exhaust note![]()
Anyone else said something perfectly natural on here but has seemed a bit, well, nerdy?
I sometimes refer to things I've read on PH and when people ask who told me I kind of just splutter that I read it somewhere online
Not ashamed of PH but have now started getting comments like 'Are you on that bloody Car Forum again?' as people walk past my desk

In the South of France recently, on a tour bus, a completly unexpected "F K ME AN F40", was uttered from my mouth. I'd say the F40 driver heard me.
A bit embaressing, if not neardy.
He was probably more surprised at the f
k propersition than the acknowledgement of his car
The graduate who for 3 months sat (very quietly I might add - he is quite shy) in the dilbertesque cubicle next to mine left the other day. I went up to him and wished him all the best. He replied 'I know I haven't spoken to you much but I sure have learned a lot about cars'

I have done that with cars. Yesterday I shouted 'oh a genuine Ferrari' and cant you tell by the note its not a MR2 with a body kit.
But mainly I do the same with computers. Remarks like 'oh thats not an early Lisa ... they had twiggy drives'.
Wife gets annoyed when I start shouting at the telly for example a historic lession due to the wrong type of computer for that era and then a 10 minute explanation of why.

i was driving down the M5 near exeter once, in the outside lane an F40 comes past the other way. not having seen one on the road in years i craned my neck round to see it and proceeded to vear into the middle lane.... the passengers were terrified, quite rightly too in all honesty, but thankfully the motorway was fairly empty and there was no traffic around us. it didnt help when i told them all about the F40 for the next few miles.
another favourite is spotting a nice car in the mirror whilst on the motorway then winding the window down (window winders, you remember them!?) to hear it go past. as a rover driver, i am often in the middle lane you see
Saw a 355 on the M4 last week which sounded awesome. I love that V8 wail.... Mrs pablo was only slightly annoyed, we were on the second severn bridge at the time and it was a touch windy!.....
