Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story
Discussion
Enjoying it. Nice looking back on that time.
Warmed to K.Reeves presenting style.
Loved urging them on that season. Such a simple but effective branding. Amazing success story.
(Wish Ross Brawn would come back to Ferrari!)
Lot of respect for Di Montezemolo, think he is happily playing the panto villain for this or at least accidentally coming across as that.

No doubt an easier pill to swallow for honda now that they are beating everyone by miles, and brawn doesnt exist. Plus mercedes are struggling.
... don't you mean Red Bull Powertrains ? edit - watch Ep1 and really enjoyed it, got all the interviews with a range of people... I have a mk1 BrawnGP cap somewhere...

Yeah, but he mentions several times how it "came from nowhere"... he surely realises they basically spent the whole of 2008 working on that concept? The only out of nowhere bit was bolting a different engine to the back and having it work so well!Warmed to K.Reeves presenting style.

the thing I liked most in episode one, was discovering that it was a young Japanese designer that came up with the double diffuser concept. Not Ross Brawn.Lynchie999 said:

Don't take it so literally. Coming from nowhere doesn't mean that nothing had been done beforehand. It's just an expression to say that it was unexpected. After all how many people, even with the knowledge of Honda spending 2008 developing the car, would have said it would do what it did in 2009? The bets didn't start being placed until after it's first test. Also, lets not forget, that the "double diffuser" was a Toyota concept and they had it as well as Williams plus, of course, Brawn had to make a lot of compromises to the car to fit the Mercedes engine.

Is Keano any good in it?
I thought he was OK, had notes but seemed to know the subject well enough and maybe is a fan.The bits that amused me were the fuel guy, ie a plumber coming back for the weekends after the first disaster out pit stops and the water logged steering wheel which meant the cars wasn’t able to restart the race had it been restarted after the monsoon Red flag in Malaysia!
I really enjoyed it, learnt new things that I wondered about at the time, perhaps a bit too much on the FIA / FOTA ‘war’, and had hoped they’d have got Button in the car as was he did a couple of years ago as I did wonder if that was done for this documentary, but apparently not.
