A warning if you park in Harlow (Water Gardens)
Discussion
A good friend of mine has a Golf R. It's immaculate and is kept in the garage when not in use. Chatting with him the other night and he told me this story.
A few weeks ago he took the car out of the garage as he had to go to Harlow. As usual the car was spotless. He parked up in the Water Gardens where he left the car for a couple of hours. He returned to the car & drove home. So far so good. As he got out of the car, he noticed there was smudging in the dirt on the sill below the drivers door. He looked under the car where upon he found an Apple Air tag stuck to the underneath. He knows the only time this could of happened was when he left the car.
What he should have done was handed it to Essex Police. What he actually did was drove straight back to Harlow and disposed of it ..... in a bus that had pulled over to pick up passengers. His rationale is it would give the would be thieves something to think about.
Just be wary if you happen to park up around Harlow Town centre
Cool story Bro etc, but this did happen and has come from the horses mouth

Given this happened in Harlow I'm surprised they didn't just whack him over the head and steal the keys.
IIRC AirTags will ping up a notification (if you have an iPhone) if you're within range for a period of time to prevent people being tracked unwittingly. Doesn't help if you have an android device though...
