Evening all, decided this winter I’ll give the TVR some much needed love.

One of my jobs is replacing the Heatshield on the bonnet which is on order, but some of the black paint is flaking off so it needs repainting first.

Does anyone know the best paint to paint it with?

It doesn’t look like the fibreglass had any primer on it

Rustoleum universal all surface paint. I changed my radiator 8 years ago and painted all of the front with it and it still looks like new when I clean it.

Thanks Spaceman, is this a spray?

I could only see a brushable version

For painting the rough side of fibreglass I would go for brush painting wink

Yeah it's brush on. It's a little bit thick from what I remember, had really good coverage and only needed one coat. You don't see any brush marks because it's on raw fiberglass which isn't flat anyway.

Thats great, thanks chaps. I do love this forum

Next job is work out what bits under the bonnet to powdercoat. I have a Burgundy 5L so wondering if to stick with the purple rockers and silver plenum or go a little different.

Maybe a very dark burgancy colour instead, something to think about...
