Weird noise from wheel

I was driving on the motorway other day and there was a noise under the car. Further on when I applied the brakes there was a scratching noise coming from from DS wheel although brakes were working ok. Also, the satnav on the speaker had a kind of inteference noise and it got worse as I applied the brakes. I thought maybe one of the brake pads had dropped out. I could not stop due to traffic. A few miles on there was another noise under the car and noise like a stone hitting the car. A bit later the brake sound stopped. I turned off satnav and then back on; the inteference had gone.
Could a pebble/stone had been caught up in the wheel? Was the intereference on the speaker linked to this or just a co-incidence?
Car seems to be driving ok now with good brakes etc. Speakers are working fine.

Your braking noise could come from any one of many braking issues, your sat nav, however is completely un related & un connected.

It turns out the radio noise was a red herring. I had the radio on a local station which went out of range as I drove out of the county.
However, on returning home I noticed there was akind of ribbon hanging from the under the car. I wonder if some cover has fallen off. Or has someone been trying to steal the cat.
I am going to take the car to the workshop to have it looked at this week.
