I came across these guys yesterday when looking for a car for my sister. I checked out their new Elise prices, and they seem very competative (like a couple of grand cheaper than anywhere else)

Standard: http://www.micronetshowroom.co.uk/category.asp?Category=Options&Make=LOTUS&Model=ELISE&UID=323087+
111S: http://www.micronetshowroom.co.uk/category.asp?Category=Options&Make=LOTUS&Model=ELISE&UID=591057+
111R: http://www.micronetshowroom.co.uk/category.asp?Category=Options&Make=LOTUS&Model=ELISE&UID=769756+
Exige: http://www.micronetshowroom.co.uk/category.asp?Category=Options&Make=LOTUS&Model=EXIGE&UID=446310+

Has anybody got any knowledge of them? I did a search on PH, but could only find one entry that linked to another website forum that had deleted their threads.

Cheers,

Dave

I dont have any personal experience with them, but have read others experiences which were not good. Maybe try putting something in General Gassing and getting a wider audience

From memory there was a thread on this quite a while back - they are buying out of a UK dealer at agreed prices and selling on to the customer whilst making a trading profit. Definitely worth taking their offer price to your local dealer and seeing what they will offer.

Well the information on their is incorrect, how do they manage to give you a 3 year warranty when Lotus only gives you a 2 year warranty?

I did, but it was ignored - I know the bods in here are more active, and as I was looking at the Lotus line-up, I thought somebody in here would be able to shed some light.

I was thinking of taking the offers to Dick Lovett, but I'm not ready to buy yet (still selling my car and getting a large enough wad together to have as small as possible finace).

I think I'll steer clear, but use their prices for haggling when I come to buy.

I've tried them all out, only one that I'd recommend is www.Autobytel.co.uk brought my 111R from them fantastic

don't think it's any cheaper than you can get from a dealer, by the time you've selected the bits you would have anyway, i.e. CD stereo, metallic etc etc and not sure what they're deal is with onroad costs too i'd go to a recognised dealer and know you can go abck to them then.

I've had a couple of replies in the main gassing forum. Doesn't look good from the Google news @ uk.rec.cars.imports Think I'll steer clea and use them as a barganing chip.

I noticed there was no mention of the OTR costs, thought they may be absorbed into delivery, but guess that's a naive thing to think.

Beachbum obtained his 111R from these people. I get mixed reports from him.
Personally, I would go to a good dealer as the back up a dealer offers is without value. What is the point of saving £10 now if it will cost you £50 later?

With the problems I have had with my car (mostly my own fault), I estimate westover have saved me well over £6k.

Yep, bought mine from them, saved about £2000 on any dealer offer.
Only problem was you had to constantly chase them up to ascertain progress. Managed to get the car in 10weeks, when everyone else was quoting minimum 12.

There have been some nightmare stories about them though. Something about it being a registered company overseas, rings a bell.

I would use them again, just be careful about amount of deposit and dont pay the balance until you collect. Thats what I insisted on and they were ok with it.

Ref the OTR issue, checked their website out and found the following in the FAQ's;

27. What other charges will I incur?
The price quoted includes the supplier car price, UK first registration fee, number plates, 12 months Road Fund Licence, a full manufacturers warranty (unless specified otherwise), VAT and our commission. The only thing left to decide is what type of delivery you require. Home delivery is currently £480.00. Collection from Nottingham is currently £380.00. This will be discussed when confirming your order with one of our agents

29. What will the price include?
The Micronet Showroom price will include everything required to deliver your car to your door (if home delivery is requested), from the road fund licence fee to transportation costs.

I tried to deal with these people last year for a 111R, paid deposit and waited and waited. told car was on order, checked with contact at Hethel, no such colour car (custom spec) car anywhere in system, They insisted it was, Lotus said no. I said **ck it I want my money back, got it eventually, including credit card hanling fee.

I WOULD NEVER THINK ABOUT THESE GUYS AGAIN!!!!!!
