Here we are, the bottom of the barrel looking for a few more dollars, all expertly narrated by good old Crofty. I'm laid up at home after a bike accident, so the thread is a bit early and my mood is grumpy.

Track looks to be a mix of Saudi Arabia and Singapore, and uninspiring to say the least. It’s going to be freezing in the desert- qualifying is at midnight local time.

In such unusual conditions, maybe a chance for Mclaren to beat Red Bull? The team was close in Brazil and the poll is for 1st for this reason. Alonso is reinstated after Brazil's heroics biggrin.

Date(s): Friday 16 to Sunday 18 November 2023.

Thanks PiaP

With the possibility of yellow flags, safety cars and cold conditions , Could be a really good chance for Norris

He's got my vote. The RB19 is often slow to warm up its tyres- I think it could really struggle in 5 degrees. It's also (relatively) weaker on street circuits so Norris has a real shot.

OK, I'll throw a spanner into the works.

Have we ever raced at 5c? On a green track, will Pirelli have brought the right tyres or could we have a massive fail at a US GP?

Does this new thread mean that people will stop arguing in the Brazil thread on whether Perez is a useless dhead or not?

Race at 22:00 local time? Why? Pretty sure that will be 1am EST where the majority of the US market is located. Surely a 19:00 or 20:00 start would make a lot more sense.

I’ve been seeing on Instagram some of the locals complaining about the F1 preparations ruining their beautiful city. Trees being dug up, fountains drained and refilled with grandstands, OPAQUE window film being applied to bridges so you can’t see if you’re not paying
I’m sure the actual locals who they turfed off the land to build a corrupt cash cow might have had the same complaints.
Sorry to hear you’re laid up PIAP. Get well soon.

It’s something new. I’m wondering which member of the sky team will look worse for wear on the FP3 forecast biggrin

For the racing, I wonder if the Ferrari teams will benefit from the lower temps as well.
Red flag in q3 and a Haas front row anyone?

It’s the same slot they use for boxing title fights in Vegas, gets the largest worldwide audience.

As others have said, I do wonder about the weather conditions. It’s Silverstone February launch day filming weather, just without the rain. The cars won’t have run at anything close to 5ºC for several years now, the Barcelona test in was it 2019, when the first day was snowed off? Since then they’ve always got to Bahrain for ‘winter’ testing, mainly because Bahrain doesn’t have a winter.

No, Pacific time is 2 hours ahead of EST, therefore 22:00 EST is 00:00 Pacific time.
