Your thoughts as enthusiasts?

I know the days of the 6th generation Camaro are numbered but wanted your thoughts of these 2 performance cars that by the numbers seem very similar (outside of a lack of RHD for the Camaro).

A 6.2 V8 would be far more interesting than the 3.0 six, so I'd be all over a Camaro.

The 1LE is a fantastic car & for me would get the nod over the M2 everytime the chassis is a peach on the Camaro.

Not going into the obvious merits of that amazing V8, but make sure you can live with the driving position and lack of visibility - found them very claustrophobic and feeling like driving a letterbox with the ratio of metal to glass

Whilst the 6th gen Camaro did improve upon the handling issues of the 5th gen Camaro, it still finds itself wanting when comparing it to the Mustang IMO. I really like the look of the Camaro and really wanted to love it, but it felt lacking in comparison to the Mustang when it came to its handling abilities, it also has insanely bad visibility with its 1ft C pillars. In addition, if you do go down the Camaro route, avoid the auto like the plague, it's a terrible box when driving spiritedly and rapidly puts itself into limp mode due to gearbox oil temps.

The M2 is a great car, I have driven quite a few of them in various forms and the biggest piece of advice I could give is to get a manual car, the DCT is a great box but the manual transmission truly brings the car alive.

I disagree having driven decent number of both, the 1LE package is a step on from the regular Camaro (whose basic chassis is a step ahead of the regular Mustang imo) BUT for me the GT350R is a better package than both

Bang for your buck, an SS 1LE is difficult to beat on track and I've been a BMW M car fanboy for 15+ years (e36 Evo, e46 M3, e92 M3 and E63 M6). Out here in the land of eagles and V8s the M2 competition is priced significantly higher than the SS 1LE.

I ordered the SS1LE (6 speed), have a VIN and am waiting for the car to be delivered--likely in January.

Thanks for the tips!

Are you UK based? Personally i think American cars look weird in the UK.
