No spare or kit

This morning I have dipped my toe into BMW ownership, deposit left for a 2005 630i.
I'll assume it originally came with runflats, now has normal tyres.
All that is in the boot is a big battery... No spare, jack, wheelbrace or inflater kit.
What are people using ?

The options are (along with carrying a toolkit & jack):

• spacesaver tyre
• puncture repair kit / and or goo of some type
• spare full-size wheel (if you have staggered tyres, then a front will fit either axle)
• breakdown cover only

I carry a puncture repair kit, plus 2 lots of goo (one BMW, one Continental I think) - but the only punctures I've had would have required a whole new tyre anyway, as they were huge slices/gashes along the side wall from potholes or motorway debris...and in one case it wouldn't have mattered if I'd carried a spare tyre as both rear tyres were damaged at the same time (fronts escaped completely unharmed).

Decent breakdown cover

A decent tyre inflator kit with tyre goo for emergencies and that's it...

I've run BMWs with no spare for years now and on non RFTs...

With the limited space you have in your E63, that's about the best you can do unless you're happy with a spare wheel in the boot and widow maker scissor jack etc...

Thanks for the replies, I have never not had a spare, suppose I'll get used to it.
I have ordered a self repair kit and somewhere I have a spare foot pump.

A foot pump is worse than useless on a tyre the size of those, if the tyre wasn't damaged it would take an hour to pump it up.

Use the aerosol tyre repair goop cans & get a cigarette lighter plug tyre inflator for top ups.

Thanks, I have just ordered the inflator... I do have decent full breakdown cover Autoaid, used once, boy did I get my money's worth, involved M6 closure, Friday AM rush hour, police and recovery were great.

Make sure you have some repair goo as well, Holts Tyreweld or similar. Some people use the repair kits, often referred to as "rats'tails" as an alternative.

I've left my 3 Series on run-flats to avoid all that, but most of my Z4s boot is full of a full-size spare, jack and wheel-brace ever since I did a road-trip a few years ago and wanted to avoid a show-stopping puncture!

Presumably the size of the front rather than the rear.

Audis done have rfts or spares either. I carry a compressor and can of goo. I prefer the compressor posted above to mine as it had a clip on to the valve, as threaded can be faffy. I recently got a screw in the tyre and pumping it up got me the 15 miles home.

Is there a good recovery service these days?
