Been using these guys for many years as their price is always the best.

May be however even the mechanic in the same unit is not there, whole place is shut down, may be place will be knocked down and going to be developed.
Shame as he also did puncture repairs the old fashioned way with a vulcanizing machine.

He went bust, possibly on purpose as the last time I was there he looked fed up, shame as I've been using him for 30+ years.

Yes if you find him in one of his moods you start to think what am I doing here, like you said seems he has gone bust.

If it's where I'm thinking of, is it not where they're going to "redevelop the land" in front of the Northern Design Centre for a car park and/or stadium?

Close. Car park is already built. However the delay of the new Sage arena means that the council can’t get anyone to take the car park on yet, so it remains complete but closed.

The arena keeps getting additional funding, but doesn’t get restarted before needing more funding, so no end in sight.

I work almost opposite the Northern Design Centre. There’s a huge solar farm there too which feeds into our facility, as does the minewater heat and energy scheme. For a run down part of Gateshead there’s some cutting edge stuff going on nowadays.

Can’t help with Barry’s tyres though - took us by surprise that did!
