Is the pre-cat V8S OK to run on unleaded? simple question I know but I am unsure of the answer with pre-cat cars

All V8S will run on unleaded fuel without burning their valves out as they have hardened valve seats. However, IMO super / optimax is the best fuel to use as the ignition advance was set up for higher octane than normal unleaded. Most cars will run unleaded mine included, but pinking may be an issue.

Many thanks for the reply, it was the valve seat info that I required and yes I will run it on Optimax

A good cheaper alternative is the new Tesco 99 RON Super unleaded being tested now.........I am using it from my local Tesco and its as good, if not better, than Optimax and is apparently slightly better quality 99 RON compared to 98 RON...! At only 93p a litre great value in todays market too...?
