Very sad to see being reported today that Angelo Bruschini, who played extensively with MA when on the road, has passed away aged 62.

Saw them many many times over the years; invariably slick and musically innovative, frequently sonically spectacular, in no little part due to Angelo’s talent.

Such sad news. I saw him with the Blue Aeroplanes back in 1990, one of the truly memorable gigs. He just co-wrote and played on their wonderful new album Culture Gun. Quite the guitarist and a good guy.

Angelo was a fantastic guitar player & he really got into his stride on Swagger & Beatsongs (kudos to Alex Lee too). I first saw the Blue Aeroplanes in the early 90’s & was blown away tbh. Saw them plenty of times afterwards & it always made for a great night out. He’s more known for his work with Massive Attack but for me it’s those 2 Aeroplanes albums & seeing him on stage looking super cool with a beautiful Guild guitar that I’ll remember. 62 really is no age & it’s a real shame for his family & friends. Reading the comments on the Blue Aeroplanes fb page it seems he was an absolute gent & a lovely guy too.
