Aston Martin seem keen on extra wind tunnel time

The early season car could be driven flat out by Alonso and he stayed close to the Red bull.
Now they are behind a lot of teams.
Is this due to the cost cap? Did they throw all the development into next years car early and are just tinkering now.?
Do people have to be seen to be busy at work (the british disease) so have changing things for the sake of it to please managment?
Were they the worst affected by extra flexi parts clamp down?

If you basically pinch someone else’s ideas, its harder to develop them.Now they are behind a lot of teams.

There's the other option of Alonso going off the boil. In such a tight season behind the RBs, 95% is nowhere, and even 98% slows you too much. He driving in a team that may well be toxic. He's carrying a dolt.
He's always been emotional - one of his strengths - but it has it's negatives as well. The tone of some of his radio messages, while they pale into mildness compared to MV's, have become a bit critical. He enjoys stroking: by the press, by the fans, by the commentators and, in particular, by his team. Is he getting enough strokes?
