last LNT TVR race
Discussion
well the last race which will include the LNT tivs has finished and the front suspension on one failed and on the other the diff had problems, such a shame after the start of the season showed so much promise.
ill still support them next year when they are competing in the thundering panoz's

it is hard to hear but then you think about how much money that has been thrown at those cars and there is no doubting the pace, but its starts getting silly when a team goes through 5 engines per race meeting. such a shame the factory didnt get behind them more.
the panoz looks like a brilliant car and with the drivers they have they should go well.

looks like the LeMans dreams are fading away.... more and more leaving the marque....
Where will it end...
probably in the bloody gutter
...
Best of luck to LNT with their Panoz, far less headaches in comparison to TVR no doubt and hopefully start making some real money with this one...

there are lots of lemans cars just no one to race them.
-peninsula 1x T400R
-CDL 1x
-eclipse 1x
-LNT 4x
not sure of any others out there. but 7 is still a large number of cars not racing.
sad isnt it
edit to say: so if the peninsula rumour is true then the final LMES race at Istanbul will be the last time a TVR races in the top flight for a while. the glory days of the speed 12, loads of T400R's and the win at spa this year seem so long ago with the future looking like this.

Its a crying shame, last time I was at Le Mans thought it was fantastic seeing those yellow De Walt 400Rs mixing it with the best. though sadly every time I looked at the board they were trailing in last place, last but one, or in the pits being fixed. If only NS spent the Benelli money on the Le Mans program, even if only to just keep up with the 911s and Vettes, never mind beating them, it would go a long way to giving the TVR brand the kind of lift it desperately need right now!
He'll be having the Radicals or am I missing something ?
LNT had a great start into the season, the wonder of Spa as I call it. From then on it all went into the wrong direction which is a shame. They have the speed (cars and drivers) to be a front runner in GT2 but they lack reliability, especially the engines. The fact that the factory delivers the engines very late doesnt help there. Penisula are able to show better results but then again they take the more cautious approach and are mostly in the back of the field.
Nic should step in asap. Otherwise I don't see a TVR running in international motorsport in the near future. It's down to TVR to do something, very swiftly. No TVR at LM in 2006 would be a marketing nightmare.

I'm not sure it would be a real nightmare for TVR. I don't think that a huge number of people have TVR brought to their attention simply because they enter. Thanks to LNT they are now ready to get out there an seriously compete. Getting a class win would do wonders for the marque, but right now it's hard to see that happening.
To my mind the biggest marketing nightmare for TVR is letting LNT go away.
Nic has undone everything in a few months that Wheeler spent years building...
so he uses the excuse of 'better quality control', more concentration on current models, etc etc... but at what costs? and do these costs outweigh what IMO are miniscule gains?
People may think I'm a negative bastarrd, but the truth of it is, do any of us know where TVR is heading?
Can any of us put our hand on heart and say Nic 'knows what he's doing?'....
Thats the scary thing, the uncertainty...
I loved cathing the races and seeing our flag held up high, regardless if won or not, there was something there and it was getting better through development etc... racing is bread and butter for many small car companies, to lose that IMO is to lose ones left arm....

Smolenski,
If you are reading this forum I hope you are taking note of what your current TVR fan base/future customers think, they are not happy!
Apart from the development that can be gained through endurance racing, there is the cache and prestige that particularly appeals to your typical TVR owner, you find its mainly the real hardcore petrol head enthusiasts who buy your cars, and will keep coming back for more, particularly if your little SP6s can just keep going through the night a Le Sarthe without too many problems, what better showcase for reliability.
If you want my advice, give Melling a ring, give him a kiss and get him back on the payroll ASAP and everyone will be happy.
You have a golden opportunity to put things right.
P.S. If you need any more advice give me a shout.

I read somewhere that NS wants to compete directly with the italians and germans,he wants to move away from a fibreglass body and seperate chassis.
All this and improvements in quality will mean the price of future TVR's will rise, thus they will be closer in price to the competition.Therefor his currect customers are NOT what HE sees as his future customers.Basically he wants to sell cars to people with more money

i think TVR really needs racing but also i think the public needs to see TVR's racing.
there something about british teams which gets the public behind them (aston martin this year, both Tivs finishing LM last year). a PH'er stood in the rain at silverstone this year for pretty much the full 6 hours waving his large TVR flag high, did i see a porsche flag? no. lots of ppl like seeing a TVR racing and being loud round a race track so please NS listen to the fans
