Don't really know too much about him or his politics, but he ripped that reporter in a very calm and precise way hehe

Not heard of him before - loved his 'common sense' message.

Canada needs to offload Trudeau as fast as possible (we all do)

Good interview...reminds me of the BBC's Musk interview (and no, I'm not a Musk fanboy, but it's good to see a Liberal reporter being schooled).
Hopefully there's enough Canadians with common sense left to vote for anyone (or any thing) but Trudeau!

Shame Britain doesn't have a viable alternative like this!!

Little that is liberal about Trudeau. He gives the impression he would have been happy to be one of Stalin's henchmen.

I just watched the interview and if it wasn't a setup I would say more "grrr, down with reporters who have no facts or evidence"

Around here it would be he doesn't know whether he needs a ste or a hair cut smile Have no idea of Pierre's politics but given the state of Canadas i doubt whether he needs to say much more than what he said there to get elected.

Trudeau is nominally left of centre, we also have the NDP who are waaay left of centre, then the Conservatives led by this guy, who are right wing, he is not totally evil , has some good ideas, but convincing the people will be a hard ask, and as far as I know he has not yet had a blackface moment either….

Trouble with the voting system in Canada is the time zones and the sparsely populated West compared to Ontario/Quebec , by the time we get a chance for our say in Western Canada the result is a foregone conclusion .
Refreshing to see other comments on here regards Trudeau , and yes he is an utter fkwit .

Apart from it being hilarious, if not staged (I mean the apple munching and side eye combo was funny as) that journalist should be sacked by whatever organisation he works for, for leading with his chin, having no mastery of detail and the backbone of a jellyfish. Poor show.

As for Poilievre I’ve seen one speech he gave previously re inflation and devaluation referring back to Henry VIII which was rather good.
To paraphrase Emperor Palpatine I will watch his career with great interest.

And as for that dangerous blackface-o-holic charlatan Trudeau: ‘lock him up!’

Hmm, I wouldn't say masterful. Th reporter was a fool. He tried to challenge him with no specific evidence to back up his assertions, he was asking for a hammering. It was as if he had just come from a bar conversation with a bunch of his buddies who all agreed with him and then tried to pass the same st off as a serious interview.

Poilievre, on the other hand had a handful of simplistic "i cut through the crap to give you what you want" arguments that are typical of populist politicians. His message isn't that far from Trumps "drain the swamp" rhetoric in that his message is "the solution is obvious but the other guy doesn't have the balls to do it."

So is he a populist? yes of course he is. Was it a masterful slap down of a liberal journal? Pfft no, that was the rhetorical equivalent of taking candy from a baby.

I love how anyone who appears to have a little bit of common sense is described as “populist “ by certain people like it’s a bad thing…
