Alfa Stelvio or alternatives
Discussion
I'm considering buying a used stelvio quadrifoglio. I quite like the raised driving position and need a decent size boot. I want something a bit out of the ordinary and with some go to it.
Are there any good alternatives I haven't thought of. I'm not too keen on the usual hot options from the German car makers. Any suggestions?

F-Pace SVR ?
I'd suggest the same as the best non German alternative.I'd pick the Alfa, with its Italian flair, good looks and probably better reliability than the Jag.
Just be aware of how easy they are to steal. It's what put me off a Stelvio, albeit I was looking at the more sluggish Veloce.

So what's the answer to security then? Steering lock, tracker?
Some have had fitted a plate to block access to the Canbus, but not sure how effective that is. Ghost immobiliser appears to be effective, but doesn't stop scum from damaging your car.Maybe an old fashioned steering lock might be a good deterrent.
Caveat.. my comment and experience here is for a Giulia, but they are essentially the same.
Watch out for build quality. I had a Giulia TI / Sport and loved every minute of driving it, but had niggling trim issues, bits falling off, thin paint and an overall feeling of it being fragile.
Of course it didn't put me off as I went to test drive a second hand Quad and it was riddled with even worse issues including a broken front drivers seat (couldn't move it back or forward and it rocked in it's runners).
No doubt the dealer should have fixed these things, but it highlighted the overall quality of the thing.
But.. I loved mine, would have another, but go in with your eyes open and look carefully at the build quality.

I had a 2019 Stelvio QV for 15 months.
Nothing went wrong, ever.
Great car although not as big inside (the rear anyway) as you’d think.
Amazing performance and ability for the size of it.
The front radar is the weak point - there is a fix albeit not an Alfa one, and we know a few cars that have had an attempted theft with the device fitted but the thieving scum couldn’t take the car

Just returned one on an 69 plate and think it’s going through an auction in Corby.
Problem free for almost 4 years. It’s due a belt service at 4 years which is a biggie.
Wonderfully capable and with the slightly wider tyres on the rear (PS4’s) it was a game changer vs the Pirelli’s it came with.
