Hi all,

A common problem on 996 and 997 Turbos is that the hydraulic system that raises the rear spoiler fails, often due to either a leaking spoiler ram or a leaking piston in the pump. The system looks like this:

The problem is so common that there are even aftermarket kits specifically developed to remove the entire system, but they cost over £1,500 before you even ship them from the US (see: https://rennkit.com/eram-kits/). Porsche would want around double that to fix the issue. eek

It is possible to strip down the parts and replace o-rings etc to seal them up again, but even then getting the right amount of fluid can be tricky and if you get it wrong, you'll end up with a very obviously wonky spoiler! Which is where I'm at now with my spoiler - goes up and down, but is wonky. frown

My quesiton to the PH hivemind is: Is there a way to insert a tee with a one way valve into the line to hydraulic line going from the pump to the spoiler ram to bleed it and insert/remove fluid as necessary (the system is otherwise sealed for life - until it leaks)?

Some close up pics for info...

I wonder if something like this would work placed at the base of the ram instead of the oem banjo fitting?

Actually, I'm over complicating things, I think what I need is a banjo bolt with a built in bleed valve like this, just need to check the size of the oem bolt, Im hoping it's M10 x 1.25 or x 1.0mm:

Parts diagram, if anyone is interested. Obviously they don't sell single banjo bolts, or tell you what size they are. The "line kit" that incudes them is around £500!!

I know a fair amount of time has passed, but hoping you see this!

How did you get on? Did you manage to fit a bleed point?
