Leon / Scirocco?
Discussion
Hi folks and good evening.
Long story short. Big Scirocco lover, had a few, MK 1 / MK 2.
Still own my MK1 Storm since I bought in 1994.
I’m also a Corrado lover, I’m on my second since 1998. However great the Corrado has been (both) my current one is showing it’s age now. I need a more practical everyday car.
This weekend I’ve had two test drives in a lovely 17 plate 40 K 1.4 SEAT Leon and absolutely loved it. Amazing car. I’m on the cusp of buying.
However, I’ve found a MK 3 Scirocco (local) at a dealer. High spec. It’s older than the Leon, (2015) but £ 1 k cheaper.
About 10 K miles more. But it’s a diesel 2.0 TDI.
I’ve not bought a newish car since I bought my Elise 20 years ago.
Anyone got experience of the MK 3 Rocco , and particularly the Diesel engine?
Thanks in advance Jim.

Wish I’d never sold my Scirocco, or I should’ve got an R after the 2.0TSI GT I had. It was a reliable car, but I did have to get both inner sills repaired due to rust and it was only 6 years old at that point. I’d have another, it was a great cruiser and enjoyable when in sport mode. I’d recommend petrol - the TSI engines offer great real world economy on a run and nicer than a diesel.
