Corrado mirrors with fibreon adapters

Hi chaps,

My Chimaera project was missing mirrors when I bought it. I've got hold of a set of Corrado mirrors and bought a set of mirror blocks from FIbreon. The mirror blocks need holes drilling for the wires to pass through, before I do it I thought I'd check this is where others have done it.

I'm guessing I need to drill a hole through the bottom here



So that it comes out on the top somewhere round here

So long ago that I did mine I cannot remember, but that looks about right.
The bottom hole needs to line up with the hole in the door, the top hole with the base of the mirror, as you have realised.
I also had to grind down the top surface of the adaptors to make them meet with the mirrors correctly.

They look nice, but the passenger side view is a bit limited.

You also need to drill the mirrors to take the opener buttons if yours is a later car, and the wiring is a bit of a puzzle too as the number of wires doesn't match to the wires in the car.

If it’s a complete rebuild? I had the holes taken out of the doors and mounted them straight on the door.

If your doors have had the holes filled in, I would be mounting the mirrors a tad furher back - then you would have a better view passenger side.

Does anyone have any of the Fibreon mirror adapters that you’re looking to sell? I’ve been trying to contact Fibreon to purchase a set but haven’t had any responses after multiple attempts. I’m wondering whether they’ve ceased trading.

I might be fitting TT mirrors instead, I've bought some to have a play with. If I go with those I'll be selling my adapters.

The Corrado mirrors were original figment on the last Griff SEs were they not? Were they mounted further back or did SEs just have worse visibility on passenger side?

Are Fibreon still operating? I see companies of that name in both Stourbridge and Aberystwyth. Did they move or different companies?

Or does anyone have a pair of adapters available?

The chap who makes them moved to Aberystwyth, this is the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/fibreonUK/?locale=en_GB his email address is listed on there. I don't think he stocks them, just makes them when people request them.
