The Factory is a sad looking place these days.... :(

Was in Blackpool last month & managed to have a quick wander round the yard. I've left a while before posting because I didn't want to get anyone into trouble for letting me have a look.... :)

I was last at the factory in September 2000 & it's now a sad looking place ! Considerably less cars around (especially now there is no servicing), and the whole place just seems more low key.....

These days your not allowed to take pics. Not even I do any more just so the guys and girls dont get into trouble.

NS does tend to get annoyed if he find pics of the place.

Strange how peoples' perception can differ, I was there in July and thought the place looked quite sorted and business like....for TVR.

Truely aweful! Are these the worst spots or is it all like this?
Are we buying cars from this scrapyard? Would have thought NS would reshape the place.

those historic bits of speed 12 bodywork and the old cerbera speed 12 racer sitting in the grass looks so bad, it also looked like the body moulds for the cerbera speed 12 and the chimera. surely NS would accept some money for the rear sp12 bodywork or something i mean come on TVR fans would love a piece of history like that.

When I was there in June I was told I could take pictures. Is this a recent change? I wonder why he feels annoyed? I would feel pride...

I now just dont bother, its not worth the hassle that may arise.

chassis look old spec- I had mine up on a lift over the hols and the chassis coating is now grey rather than white( 05 CAR). Agree the site looks a bit grisly though.

I visited the factory in the early 90's once and
this pic is exactly how I remember it, only then the shells were all of wedges, S's and the new Chimaera.

I can see why he would get annoyed about people taking photos. If my prestige sportscar factory looked such a dump I would be livid if anyone took photos. Are these people's cars abondonned on weed infested wastelands. Brand new bodyshells left out in all elements before paint, see a few potential problems there. How many factories in UK still have corrugated asbestos roofs. Even if those chassis are last years spec I will guarantee they will not be scrapped, ie they could be on your NEW car soon. OH DEAR

they dont look like chassis for road cars to me .. no triangulation and half the suspension mounts missing .. probably test chassis so that if they make any body changes they can check the chassis will still fit underneath?

hi there all the shells that you see are rejects + remember this that the cars you by from the every day car builder wil have been sat in the middle of a field for up to a year before geting to the show rooms .TVR are only building to order there for no risk of standing stock, so think before slagging of a small factory with limited resorces yours ft

very true fred, but those cars will have good rust protection, paint and wax

firberglass does not rust the paint work is of the highest order and they build to order so they are not stud . yes wax oiling would be agood thing as standerd yours ft
