So I valued my car the other evening with Cazoo and the price offered was acceptable. But I valued it with its current private plate. So I decided I would sell to them but keep the private plate on retention. And obviously register the car back on the original plate. Which I have done. By the way the valuation is valid until 9/10/23.

Now they Cazoo told me I would have to revalue when the car has been re registered. I believe it takes maybe a day or two for the car details to be populated. And available for car valuations. But on running a new valuation today to check if the re registered plate details were up. I found the price has dropped. And I found the re registered details have not migrated yet. So obviously now I’m wary of checking again.

But I was just thinking. All I have done is change the plate details. And as yet I am still within the original contract date. So if the car details go through. And I revalue the car within the contract date. But the price is lower. Can I insist that they honour the original higher offer ?

Apologies for the lengthy post.

Not hugely helpful here, but here’s a Cazoo tip.

Find a car that’s the same year/model as yours.

Cazoo change their valuation each day. Keep checking the other car plate with spam details. When you get a good valuation, put your details in and book an appointment. Even up to the day of your appointment keep checking the other car reg. I ended up cancelling my appointment as 2 days before I was due to sell it to them, the other reg went up by £200. Cancelled my appointment and instantly booked it again for the same day £200 better off.

Thanks Jonno I saw that tip and tried it. But was shocked when the price came back at nearly 2k under my valuation. Scared the poop out of me. wtf is that about ??
