Just found a great clip of Liam Lawson at the Ring in a 911 with Alex Albion along side - has to be said this is a great video as you get a real sense of how much they are both enjoying it ( maybe more for Liam than Alex!) and also how quick and in control he is compared to most other Ring in car views you see on youtube..

Sit back and enjoy Liams car control in the Porsche

I was thinking the same as Liam. That VW driver could drive and the MX5 driver knew which corners he was better in!

Had Liam driven the Ring much? From an armchair perspective it seemed like he missed a few apexes, but maybe it was not knowing the Porsche handling characteristics...Not shabby though!

Yes great to see two current F1 drivers appreciating the efforts of regular track drivers on an open TF Ring day ( the mx5 driver was wild).

The Ferrari ones with Alonso and Massa are fun as is the McLaren one with Alonso and norris.

Most annoyingly the ease at which they mess about in very powerful cars is rather depressing!

I agree, this is a great vid.
The start few mins of him needing an instructor at a hire company is brilliant.
Iv used Apex and they are great if you need to hire a car at the ring.

^^^ those clips of Albon and Lawson are from a couple of years ago - Liam has grown a bit and car see over the dashboard now…
The faster Alex drives, the more composed and at ease he looks.
Both drivers show that they are real talents IMHO.

If I were the bloke in the Golf at the beginning of the film, I'd extract the audio where Lawson says 'this guy is so fast' and have that as my ring tone! smile

I remember seeing that at the time. My memory was convinced that the passenger was Mike Brewer. Anyway, wonderfully relaxed car control from Damon, driving with one hand most of the time, yet still going so fast that the passenger throws up. Brilliant!

The Kubica one is good, very committed.

He winds me up to listen to, but Rosberg driving a McLaren Senna is a good one. I think he's maybe being a bit aggressive with the car to look dramatic, he makes it look on the edge of an accident and completely in control simultaneously.

I think we can all agree though the best clip ever is Patrese with his wife at Jerez in a Civic. Bloody hilarious but also showing a very col, relationship they have!
