Nail in tyre, not deflated

I say nail but it’s a lump of steel. I pulled it but it’s gone in horizontally so hasn’t actually punctured the canvas of the tyre. I guess the white stuff is maybe from some concrete it was embedded in which has been run over.
So no air leak, no “bleb” or whatever you call it but it’s obviously left a hole in the tyre surface.
Biggest worry is it delaminating at speed.
But then it’s a commuter car and I’m loath to junk a tyre if it’s not needed.
Would you drive in that?

Could give a better opinion if the pic showed the tyre with object removed (but in shot), and a small screwdriver opening the split as deep as it goes so we could see inside.
If its not touched the cords or steel bands then it should be OK, you could probably buy some cold cure product clean the cut and seal it shut.
