520d tourer power loss

Just drove my 520 d 2006 back from Spain
600 miles didn`t miss a beat
Came off the ferry and just seemed something was holding it back.
Engine sounds fine but feels strangled
Having to change down 2 or 3 gears to get up hill
Any ideas?

Are you getting any dash errors or have you stuck a dongle in to get some error codes?

Stop guessing & get the codes read first; take it from there

It could be all sorts; it could be simply that the battery needs replacing...

Sounds like a boost leak, check for cracked or loose hoses under the bonnet when engine under load.

Have 4 error codes
43E2 throttle valve active
4242 glow plug cyl 4
4587 heated fuel filter
4530 charge air pressure ctrl deviation
Have cleaned the throttle valve ,no joy
The rest look expensive to sort
Don`t really want to spend 100s on a car that isn`t worth that much.

If the fuel filter is blocked up, the engine will definitely feel down on power. Filter is only £20.

Glow plug could be that, the controller or a line.
