Interesting stuff but the site didn't open up for me. Does it indicate the compression ratio and boost level? What will 15-20 psi and 7:1 c/r yield on stock rpm's?

Most turbo'd ultimas I have seen have the turbos up higher. But hey, if you can fit them down low then I say go for it. You will probably have to custom fabricate the turbo headers if that is what you were trying to save on. But if someone has a set, see if they will fit and put the turbo in a good location. Just don't forget about getting oil to the turbo and back to the oilpan. May require a pump if your turbo is down near or below the oil pan return line. And your exhaust pipes after the turbos will have to clear the driveshafts as you route the exhaust.

I think up high or at the back suits the Ult best. those low mounts suit a normal car, as its in the path of the existing exhaust. On a ult you would have to plumb your way down and then plumb your way back up and out the back. Unless of course you opted for some sort of funky McMerc rear side exit type affair.
And, as the previos poster pointed out, you will need a scavenge pump if there's no gravity path back to the sump.

i think the planned APS kit looks as though it would include the scavange pump. these are also coman place on rear mounted turbo kits for truck and cars in the states. so they must work.

the advantage of this kit was the simplicity of it. it looks as though it would fit the chassis, and im sure you could acomidate a set of cats (straight affter turbos) anbd then a single lager muffler like where the Zonda has one!

also how about this one? do you guys think it will clear the engine mounts ok? you could even run the stock scilencers with it!!

Chris,
It sounds like you are looking to go turbo on your car. I would say there is space to do it, you just need to plan ahead to fit everything. That is a nice looking twin turbo kit, and personally I like twin turbo. But a large single would also do the job. Where would you mount an intercooler? Or mount separate twin intercoolers? Where would you pull air from for the intake? Would the turbos be close to anything where the heat would cause issues?

Yes those scavenge pumps are standard with the STS rear mount turbo kits. They do work, but some guys have also had them fail, so do your homework.

If you are into the turbo idea, I would suggest reading "Maximum Boost" by Corky Bell. It gives a pretty good overview of what is needed and how to make it all work well. Choosing turbo sizes and locations, materials, etc. There are other books that are a lot more in depth, but this book should be enough to give you some good info.

Best of luck. I am hooked on turbo's too. Just wish I could afford to turbo all of our cars like I want to.....

That AVO kit is very neat.... I like it, but not so sure about their statement:

"... While it looks a bit tight under the hood, it all fits underneath a stock hood, with no obvious clues to the concealed weapon you are carrying!"

That is of course apart from the other "stealth" add ons like the huge concealed fin on the back, the massive secret intercooler behind the front bumper cleverly concealed "twin turbo" decals on the front.... not to forget the noises it makes as it sucks babies out of prams under boost and blows the undies off the mummies on blow off.
