Decided I'm going to take my Chim 430 into a vintage Land Rover service/resto shop here in NYC before putting the car to bed for the winter. (From what I can tell that's the closest thing I'm going to get to a TVR expert this side of Toronto...)

I've had the car about 15 months, put 2500 miles on it, changed the oil once. The car drives quite well and hasn't thrown anything in my face yet (whistle) so this is prophylactic - an annual checkup.

I was going to ask the mechanic to do a compression test, check the plugs, poke around for any slow leaks - what else should I ask him to look at?

Thanks...

How early is the car? If it is a 14 bolt head car then compression is very much one to check, they have a tendency to lift.
Crucifix seals if they haven't been done.
Drive shaft grease (usually neglected)
Steering rack grease
Check all the suspension bushes
Fuel lines if they haven't been replaced

There is a chap on YouTube, Brittanic Rescue or something, he is a Brit in Canada ( I believe) but I have used his videos a few times for Rover stuff, seems to know his stuff, just found him https://britrest.com/
However I am not saying to use him, as I have never used him, not being in Canadia, but he does seem to know in the ins and outs of the LT77 and a Rover V8

I wouldn't worry about too much.
Maybe get it serviced once it's out of hibernation.
Keep the battery on a conditioner if you can and maybe once a month start it and let it run up to full temp until the cooling fans cut in.
Maybe keep the fuel fairly low but I doubt it will degrade in that time.

That is a great photo with NY in the background.

The Chimaera is, of course, stunning but that BMW E9 is off the scale.

Excellent, thanks! it's a 1993, so I guess relatively early?
