After a cracker in Monza we’re in Singapore for a night race. Perez won here last year and may go well again. The circuit has been changed a bit since last year – 23 turns down to 19.
I’ll be looking at whether Piastri can continue his good performance relative to Norris and if Lawson can continue to hammer nails into Ricciardo’s F1 coffin.
Aston and McLaren should go well here, Williams and Ferrari less so.
Here’s to a great race. Again, poll is for 2nd.
Date(s): Friday 15 to Sunday 17 Sept 2023.

All sessions are live on Sky F1. Qualifying and race highlights are shown on Channel 4.

Assuming the circuit changes haven't dramatically changed the circuits flow to suit Max, then I'm 60% on for a Perez pole & win - with Max to take fastest lap and end up somewhere about 10secs off Perez at the end.
Lewis to be 3rd, with Norris, Russel & Piastri following.
Ferrari to cock up.
Thanks and to the Rt Hon PIAP/

Thanks PiaP as usual!
The circuit change is to remove the fiddly right-left-left-right which used to form turns 16-19, in front of the grandstand right by the bay. The cars now go behind where the grandstand was (the area is being redeveloped), staying on Raffles Ave. it will make the circuit considerably faster, and encourage the teams to run less downforce.

Hmm that's a fair change. Will help the RB and Williams out. Maybe the Ferrari's too going on Monza pace.
Does that mean that 14 to 16 is now a DRS zone too as with 5 to 7?
edit - just seen that its still 13 to 14, which seems a bit stupid to not relocate to me.

Good point about the DRS zone, which does indeed make sense to move. Does that mean that 14 to 16 is now a DRS zone too as with 5 to 7?

I guess they’ll also be extending the runoff at the new T16 as well, with the cars now approaching at 300kph!

I cannot imagine a world in which Red Bull let that happen./

Thanks for the thread PiaP, not sure I can muster the enthusiasm to watch this, however, this thread remains my go to for what happened and if it is worth watching the recording.
As to the race, if it is wet will they even run?, there seems to be no desire to run full wets from anyone, in which case what is the point of transporting them around the world.
Results wise, Ferrari to continue with their poor decisions, RB (or rather MV) to manage the race from the front without challenge, SP to drive another nail into his RB coffin, everyone else to scrabble for what’s left.

It will be interesting to see if the FIA have discovered and banned the cheat mechanisms for flexi-wings that pass static tests.
I cant see it making much difference in actual outcomes, just make RB a bit slower under DRS and Mercedes even slower.. The behaviour of their front wing under full load is extraordinary.

Agreed, will be interesting to see if there are any changes in the pecking order, and if so, who is the most impacted. From the onboard footage it would appear there is significant front wing deflection from every team towards the front of the grid with Alpine, with MB, Aston and Alpine being the biggest offenders. I'd like to see the back markers to catch up a bit but the gap is too big imo. Hoping for a good result from Williams again with the removal of T16-19 and a 1/4 mile straight in its place I cant see it making much difference in actual outcomes, just make RB a bit slower under DRS and Mercedes even slower.. The behaviour of their front wing under full load is extraordinary.
