So I test drove an f10 m5 this week and really happy with it.

I need something that can be quiet on long journeys but can be exciting as well and I was amazed at how quiet it was when you wanted if to be!

The car is a decent price, spec is fine, I was not that impressed with the interior trim but can buy some inserts to upgrade it

Its not got yhe best wheels but I can live with that/buy another set

However it does also have the basic spec seats and I keep looking at other cars online with the upgraded seats (with vertical stitching)

I will heard they are nicer and it's bothering me that this car doesn't ha e them because they sound like they are great seats, and they just look good, but it's looking like it will be 2-3k to get a similar mileage car with the upgraded seats.

Can someone tell me they don't really make a difference so I can just bite the bullet and buy the car 🤣

Also any advice on other options to look out for much appreciated

These are very spec sensitive cars on resale. Personally, I’d wait and get the car you really want. The multifunction seats were on the must have list for me - huge upgrade on the standard ones.

I'm also trying to weigh up the resale value of

10k fewer miles
Or
The upgraded seats

Which is gonna have more impact

The F10 multi function seats are insanely comfortable, can be adjusted in a million different ways, look SO much better (they're bigger and chunkier) and are just one of those features that buyers want (rationally or irrationally).

I would heartily recommend them. Probably the best seats I've ever had for doing a lot of miles.

Agree with the posters above.

I have the multifunction seats in my 2015 car which I still use for long distance driving.

Have taken it to the Balkans and back 3 times in the last 12 months some 3500-4500 miles each time and I never get tired of it.

Fabulously comfortable seats.

+1 on the above comments.

The F10 M5 multifunctions are probably best seats I have had in any car, I’d pay extra to have them again.

I would immediately discount any cars that have the pov spec seats. They're just basically M Sport spec seats, nothing special. The Multifunction seats are so much better.

It's a bit similar to the active seats on the E60 M5. People don't usually use them, but they're a must have for most, especially when considering resale.

Have just done 2200 miles in my F10 M5 around Europe and had absolutely no issues at all. I'm not aware that I have upgraded seats.

We both found them very comfortable..

It's a great car to do that sort of travel in, regardless of the seat option.

Mine's in for a whole load of preventative maintenance work now before I drive it to Italy next weekend.

Just to confirm, are we saying these are standard:

and these are the upgrades?

I must say I think I prefer the standard look.

That second picture is squished horizontally though so it makes the M multifunction seat look a bit more like an ironing board....

Do those MF seats eat into rear leg room much?

Not that I ever noticed. F10 is a big car with huge space in the rear.
