Hi All,

I have managed to source a few dozen of the Blue/Black throttle position sensors. These have been obsolete for almost 3 years, so I'm happy to share these out with anyone who might be in dire need or want some spares. (out of my personal stock).

Made by the same OEM that supplied Ford, so these are top quality units.

They fit the AJP8 4.5 and the front of the speed6 engines.

I just want to let people know I have a decent stock quantity and how they can make contact with me, as these are now otherwise unavailable globally.

Cheers

Yes, they are. Dwindling supplies now, though. I only have a couple of dozen pairs left.

All joking aside, I honestly cannot source any more of these. This is literally the last box I could find on the international market.

So if you know anyone with a 4.5 AJP8 or Speed6, better to contact me sooner rather than later. When they're gone, they're gone.

Apparently some of the Ford owners were paying around £200 each for the last few on eBay in 2021/2022!! yikes

It's fine for you to advertise them here in the Marketplace Parts and Plates forum.

Thanks Jeremy! I'm not a regular PH user, so didn't want to infringe on any forum rules.

But please don't cross post links to this thread across the forums.

Hi Jeremy, could you please raise this with PH, then. Please take this as a formal request to make this better for the owner community.

I read the various PH threads/posts of people struggling to get these units, and went out to source these parts to help, which took weeks of scouring the globe.

There are countless posts in both the Cerbera and Speed 6 groups trying to track down these blue throttle posts, going back 2 or 3 years since they were made obsolete.

This is a very niche/specialist part for only 2 of TVRs engines. Unless this is cross-posted in the specific model forums as a pointer, how are people desperate for these obsolete parts supposed to find it in "General" Parts and Plates? Its like a needle in a hay stack, and not really fit for purpose if the one selling location is completely disconnected from make/model/engine variants, and unable to be searched with ease?

I don't mean to be rude, (and this obviously isn't your fault), but we're talking highly specific parts here for a small group of car/engine owners.

Surely 'pointing' specific model/engine owners to this thread makes sense if we're trying to support a community of cars/engines that are suffering from parts obsolescence? I totally get PH don't want the make/model forums bogged down with sales, but this forum needs to be fit for purpose to support the owner community.

"General" Parts and Plates, doesn't fulfil making this accessible for owners, I'm afraid.

This is also feedback I have had from other users.

Quite simply it's against the Rules of Posting you agreed to when signing up to the forums.

Rules of Posting said:
6. Do not post for the purpose of advertising for personal or business gain, unless you are responding to a thread in the Car Buying forum and sharing a link to your car that's for sale in the PistonHeads classifieds or adding your PistonHeads classifieds listing to your Readers' Cars thread. Starting a thread specifically to advertise your classified listing or business is not allowed. Other items for sale can only be posted in the respective Marketplace forum and you must not share links to your items for sale outside of this forum.

17b. For sale threads/posts are only allowed in their respective Marketplace forums. See rule 6 for what is allowed.

19. Cross posting across multiple forums is not allowed without prior permission/consent from info@pistonheads.com.

Hi Jeremy.

I have reported your post about cross-posting to the PH team, but made it explicitly clear there is no issue with you. This is about making the forums useable for owners.

As per my reply, the "General" Parts and Plates doesn't really work for the owners and PH community, unless we are prompted to specifically look for something of interest (like obsolete parts) in there.

If we cant "cross-post" as a 'wayfinding' tool, then this isn't fit for purpose.

Hopefully the PH admins take this constructive criticism on board and come up with something that make this more usable for owners.

Cheers.

I will email info@pistonheads.com now, then.
I can't remember what I had for breakfast 8 days ago, let alone small print from 8 years ago.
This doesn't change the fact that the current system doesn't work for owners.

Not your fault, not my fault, but this needs improving.
