Hi Team,

Mr Dullo at it again.

I am attempting to replace the Oil feed lines on my '01 4.5.

I wanted to tart the engine bay up with Stainless Steel braided hoses when I was shocked to discover the path of the Oil Pump - Oil Cooler Pipe which goes all the way around the back of the engine only to pass by the Oil Filter on the passenger-side and enter the bulkhead before it finds the Cooler.

Now, I want to go directly forward from the Pump towards the Cooler
BUT
The Anti-Roll bar is in the way

As you will see in the pic below, the Adapter has a 27mm Hex head and the Pipe Junction has a 30mm Hex.
What I need is an adapter with a longer thread on it.

Do any of you geniuses know where I could source one ?

Many thanks for all your bemused comments laugh

PJ

Hi Paul,
Someone will have greater knowledge than I, but you could contact Merlin Motorsport for advice on this. R

You might end up making something bespoke .. many times I've TIG welded a piece of steel tube between the two threads of an adaptor to put the end in the right position.

Oh Joolz, you're so kind laugh
You've obviously forgotten how dumb I am.

Me ? TIG Welder ? - I'd never get the Garage door open again rofl

Further investigation has revealed that the Oil Filter is a stand-alone unit, bolted to the Chassis by a U-Bolt.

Now starting to think that I'll bring that further forward to make it more accessible biglaugh banghead

Cut to length what you need, mark up the correct orientation of the ends, and take to a local fabricator smile
