New daily suggestions.

I'm looking for my next daily and I'm not sure what to go for. I currently have a Clio trophy. Fun car but a bit too harsh on bumpy roads. Previous car was a legnum vr4, I loved it's looks, handling, power and retro cool but it was difficult to get parts and rusted away. I like hatchbacks and estates because of the boot space. I rarely take rear passengers, so usually take the rear seats out. Hence hatchback becomes a lightweight estate. I'm looking for something more comfortable, fun handling, and relaxing on a commute in traffic. More than happy with an auto. I have a MK2 MR2 and a motorcycle for weekends. I like working on my own cars so would prefer something not too modern or complicated. On paper a focus st would be perfect but the chavvy image puts me off. I don't mind something with high running costs if it appreciating in value. Another car I wondered was an Impreza estate but I'm not sure if these would be a relaxing car to commute in traffic. The current cars that I am considering are mk5 GTi, Scirocco 2.0 tfsi, e34 & e39 sport tourings. Forester xt and crossport. I'm also not opposed to some bangernomics I previously had 2004 v40 diesel and had fun owning this because it cost me £500 and I didn't car if it got scratched etc. My instinct is to look for high powered cars but fun is more important. So I may consider other things like old 70s-80s mercs or other cars that just put a smile on your face. If it wasn't for the boot space issue I would probably go for a coup such as gt86, 6 series or 370z.

I'd say take a good look at the Astra GTC VXR, they're a cracking drive & easy to work on. I'd say they tick all of your boxes especially compared to the Golf or Scirocco.

I do keep looking at these, possibly a bit too modern for me though. They don't seem to float my boat for some reason.

They're a better steer cheaper to run & they have the added bonus of being a rarer sight on the roads as well as imo being better looking than both.
